Music should be melodic.

On 19 June, we Vár’s Havnar Boys will bring this idea to life with our program “The Jazz of the White Nights.”

Real music is something we all recognise when we hear it.

It has a bright melody.

It draws us in slowly, makes us listen closer, and stays on the skin after the last note is gone.

It should have depth, attraction, warmth, and aftertaste.

It should make us fall in love with it — not only understand it, but want it, return to it, and be filled by it.

These are the qualities of "real" music that shape the original music of this program.

“The Jazz of the White Nights” is a desire to make music that feels alive: melodic, sensual, passionate, and true.

Døgg Nónsgjógv has been active on the Faroese music scene since 2013. Since then, she has released two full-length albums, as well as singles and an EP. Last year, the album Livandi was released, shedding light on adult love in all its forms – the good, the sad, the tough, and the very best.

For the past six months, she has been on maternity leave, but is now ready to return to the stage. She is joined by a highly accomplished band consisting of Høgni Lisberg, Jan Rúni Poulsen, Jens Ladekarl Thomsen, Johan Hentze, Vinjar Egilsnes Petersen, and Drós Ellingsgaard.
